| CR: | I'm no music critic, but I think "Babel" is a great album. |
| CR: | MM, doesn't it sound like the songwriter is in torture, knowing the Truth yet being unable to live in it? |
| MM: | Absolutely! This record is a lot more faith-centric/soul searching than the last. |
| CR: | I'm praying for regeneration. |
| MM: | That’s how I am when I listen to Ritter. Every time. |
| CR: | Me too. Critical thinkers and passionate feelers seem to bounce back and forth from sin and Jesus like a pong ball. |
| MM: | It has always seemed like they appreciate the searching and the longing more than they do the answers. |
| CR: | yes. The mind and emotions God has given them brings them to Jesus, but sin's shackles keep them from grabbing hold of him. |
| MM: | And because in many ways my mind works just like theirs, I am magnificently humbled to have been rescued. |
| CR: | Amen and amen. |
Sounding brass and tinkling cymbal,
He that made me sealed my ears,
And the pomp of gorgeous noises,
Waves of triumph, waves of tears,
Thundered empty round and past me,
Shattered, lost for ever more,
Ancient gold of pride and passion,
Wrecked like treasure on a shore.
But I saw her cheek and forehead
Change, as at a spoken word,
And I saw her head uplifted
Like a lily to the Lord.
Nought is lost, but all transmuted,
Ears are sealed, yet eyes have seen;
Saw her smiles (O soul be worthy!),
Saw her tears (O heart be clean!).
‘Cause I am a sinner, If its not one thing its another
Caught up in words tangled in lies
You are the Savior And you take brokenness aside
And make it beautiful, beautiful
